A Natural Haven for Happier, Healthier Horses

We believe horses are happiest and healthiest when they can live as nature intended—roaming freely in open spaces, grazing on lush grass, and socializing with their neighbors. The facility shares the 40-acre property with our family home, where we reside with pampered pets of our own (horses, mini donkeys, goats, sheep, Holland Lop rabbits, dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, and turkeys). Nestled against the Francis Marion National Forest in Huger, South Carolina, we will be offering a pasture-style full board experience that prioritizes your horse’s well-being and your peace of mind. With private grassy paddocks, large run-in sheds for 24/7 shelter, and a commitment to top-tier hospitality, we’re creating a sanctuary where horses thrive and boarders feel like family. Discover why Mustang Alley Farm is the perfect place for your equine companion!

Unlike traditional boarding facilities where horses spend half their lives standing still in small, locked stalls, we embrace a more natural approach. Each horse will enjoy their own 0.5-acre paddock, providing ample room to roam, stretch, and play. These spaces allow your horse to move freely, promoting physical health, mental stimulation, and emotional well-being. Studies, like those from the American Association of Equine Practitioners, state that horses in natural environments with room to move experience less stress, fewer digestive issues like colic, and improved joint health compared to those confined in stalls.

Every paddock features a large run-in shed, offering your horse 24/7 access to shelter from the Lowcountry’s sun or rain—without the confinement of a stall. With 3–5 neighboring horses over sturdy flex-fencing, your horse can socialize naturally to foster a sense of herd connection, reduce anxiety, and enhance happiness. We are also constructing a few larger pastures, allowing multiple horses to be kept together. Whether it’s basking in the sunshine or nuzzling a friend across the fence, your horse will live a fuller, freer life at Mustang Alley Farm.

CARE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Spacious Paddocks:  Each horse enjoys a 0.5-acre paddock (or a shared paddock maintaining 0.5 acres per horse), ensuring plenty of room to roam.

  • Nutritious Feeding:  Round bales of high-quality hay with grain provided twice daily, and automatic waterers keep fresh water flowing 24/7.

  • Tack and Equipment Storage:  Each boarder will have their own key-locked cabinet for on-site storage of saddles, tack, and personal belongings.

  • Trail Access:  Miles of trails in the Francis Marion National Forest, right around the corner, offer endless opportunities, scenic rides and adventures.

  • 24/7 Oversight:  Our family lives on-site, providing round-the-clock monitoring to ensure your horse is safe, healthy, and content.

  • Secure Environment:  Perimeter fencing protects the 40-acre property, and passcode-gated entry is coming Summer 2025 for added peace of mind.

Exciting Future Amenities

We’re thrilled to be expanding our facility to elevate your experience at Mustang Alley Farm, with completion expected later in 2025. These amenities will transform Mustang Alley Farm into a premier equestrian destination, offering boarders access to facilities while maintaining the natural, low-stress environment your horse loves.

  • Covered Pavilion:  A shaded spot to relax and connect with fellow boarders.

  • Wash Station:  A dedicated space to keep your horse sparkling clean.
